Erik has dedicated the last 15 years to improving protein drug manufacturing and cofounded Upstart to disrupt biologic manufacturing through new molecule development. He founded Intabio in 2015, commercializing a multi-attribute monitoring technology he invented, which unifies  assessment of multiple critical quality attributes (CQA) for monoclonal antibodies, ADC and bispecfiics, reducing costs and time by more than 100x. Intabio was acquired by SCIEX, and the “Intabio ZT” is now sold worldwide. He spent 13 years developing biologics characterization products at ProteinSimple. Erik has a Biology degree from MIT, is a registered patent agent, and is inventor on 55 issued patents (15 US), 41 directly related to biologic manufacturing.

John brings 30 years of experience in research, discovery, analytical development and biologic manufacturing, He spent 14 years at Bayer HealthCare as a director in Biological Development. He has co-founded 2 biologics startups: Coagulant Therapeutics and GLAdiator Biosciences, where he was VP of CMC, Manufacturing and Biologics, developing recombinant proteins for therapeutic applications. John is a member of the FDA Group and performs CMC consulting for biologics (proteins and nucleic acids), small molecules, and liposome-based formulations. John also has a strong background managing life science and diagnostic instrument and reagent development teams, including the automated DNA sequencing technology ABI used in the human genome project, John received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from St. Louis University.
